Privacy Policy

In short
The app itself does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. There are no user accounts, no registration, no advertising and no tracking. All content is included in the app; it works completely offline.
What the app stores locally
To remember bookmarks, quiz best scores, the last timeline filter, the chosen language and the colour scheme, the app stores these settings only on your device (in the local storage of the app or browser). This data never leaves the device and is not transmitted to us or to third parties. You can delete it at any time in the app under “More” or by uninstalling the app.
No connection to servers – with one exception: hosting of the web version
The native apps for iOS and Android do not download content from the internet and do not send any data. The web version at almaz6380.github.io/Geschichte is delivered via GitHub Pages by GitHub, Inc. (USA), a Microsoft Corporation company. As with any website visit, technically necessary connection data (IP address, time, requested page, user agent) briefly appears in the hosting provider’s server logs. This is the only processing of personal data in this service; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure delivery (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The transfer to the USA is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which GitHub is certified (adequacy decision of the European Commission, Art. 45 GDPR). We do not analyse these logs ourselves.
No disclosure to third parties
No analytics, advertising or social media services are integrated. No data is passed on to third parties.
Children
The app is intended for all age groups and is suitable for children. Since no data is collected, no data from children is processed either.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at). Since we process no personal data apart from the hosting provider’s server logs, there is usually nothing for us to disclose. You delete locally stored settings yourself in the app or by uninstalling it.
