The most important part first
FixTheMix does not need an account. There is no sign-up, no email address, no player name and no password.
Your progress stays on your device: levels reached, stars, coins, your daily streak and your settings. This data does not leave your device — it is stored by the app and never transmitted to us.
We collect no name, no address, no date of birth and no location.
Daily puzzle and duels
The daily puzzle is generated on your device rather than fetched from us: the date produces the same puzzle everywhere. Your result, your streak and your duel record stay on the device as well.
There is currently no leaderboard and there are no duels against other players. Your duel opponent is computed by the app itself. Nothing is transmitted to us in the process — not even anonymously.
When you share a result, the text is created on your device and you pass it on yourself. We learn nothing about it.
Recipients of your data
Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., USA): delivery of the web app at fixthemix.almaz6380.workers.dev. This technically produces server logs containing the IP address.
GitHub, Inc. (USA), a Microsoft Corporation company: delivery of these legal texts via GitHub Pages (almaz6380.github.io). Technically necessary server logs (IP address, time, requested page, user agent) are generated. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure delivery (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), safeguarded by EU standard contractual clauses. We do not analyse these logs ourselves.
Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, and Google LLC, USA): advertising in the mobile apps. Google processes device identifiers such as the advertising ID, the IP address and details about device and app. Without your consent, only non-personalised advertising is served.
RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA, processor): checking, handling and restoring the “Remove ads” purchase — at every app start, even if you never buy anything (see “In-app purchase”).
Transfers to third countries (in particular the USA) take place with Cloudflare, Google and RevenueCat. They rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified under it, and otherwise on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Advertising and your consent
The mobile apps show advertising. Before the first ad we ask via Google’s consent dialog (UMP) whether you want personalised advertising. You can change that decision at any time in the app’s settings.
If you decline, you still see advertising, but without personalisation. On iOS we additionally ask via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency dialog.
The legal basis for personalised advertising and the access to your device it requires (advertising ID, storage) is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with sec. 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). For non-personalised advertising, which finances the free app, we rely on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); here too Google only accesses your device as far as strictly necessary to deliver ads and prevent fraud.
How long Google keeps this data is determined by Google; details are in Google’s privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy and at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
We show no advertising in the middle of a level. Between two levels there is at most one ad, and only with a gap. Videos are always voluntary — you start them yourself to receive coins, a hint, an undo or an extra glass. If you have bought “Remove ads”, the ads between levels are gone; the voluntary videos remain available as an option.
The web app at fixthemix.almaz6380.workers.dev shows no advertising.
In-app purchase
You can buy “Remove ads” once in the app. The purchase itself is handled by Apple or Google — we never receive payment data such as card numbers and cannot access it.
We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) to manage the purchase. At EVERY start the app asks RevenueCat whether “Remove ads” has been bought — even if you never buy anything. This transmits a random identifier that the app creates itself on first start (it applies to this device only and is neither an account nor a name), technical details about device, operating system and app version, and the IP address; after a purchase also the store’s purchase receipt. Deliberately, no email address is used as the identifier.
The legal basis is performance of the purchase contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — without this transmission the ad-free status could neither be unlocked nor restored on a new device. The check at start-up, even without a purchase, relies on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in reliably keeping buyers ad-free without making them sign in.
Retention
The data on your device stays until you delete it — either in the app’s settings or by removing the app.
We hold no game data, because none reaches us. What RevenueCat stores about the purchase is kept for as long as restoring that purchase has to remain possible.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Consent given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
Because we do not know who you are, a request about the purchase needs your device’s random identifier. You will find it in the app’s settings. Email us with it at 63almaz80@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).
Children and young people
The game itself is suitable for any age. Consent to personalised advertising, however, can only be given from the age of 14 in Austria (sec. 4(4) DSG) and from 16 in Germany; younger people need their guardians’ approval.
We do not knowingly collect data from children. Guardians can contact us at any time — including about consent to personalised advertising.
Changes
